The weather has finally gotten cooler.† Give me a week or so and I will be complaining about how cold it is!
We had our friends over for lunch last week.† There were about 20 people here and we had a blast.† I made my version of Moe’s burritos with chicken or beef, rice, black beans, homemade salsa, sour cream, cheese, lettuce and wraps of many flavors.† Very good.
Kei has been collecting acorns from our trees.† There are thousands!!!
We had our 2nd Skate Day and there were, once again, tons of people. Kei took a bunch of knitted items and made $7.50!† She was so excited.
Chan and Ben came home with us for a few days while Esther surprised Matt with a romantic getaway.† Jake joined us on Saturday night and we had a blast with our new big family.
Monday we went to a working farm with our Homeschool Group.† We† had so much fun.† It was a beautiful day!† The family does organic farming and we learned so much about that.† The kids all planted their own lettuce to bring home.† Kei’s dream is to live on a farm.† Yesterday made her realize just how much work that involves!
We saw cows, sheep, llamas, chickens, bunnies, kitties and more.
Kei was delighted with the llamas.† Of course, “she wants one.”
A great week in God’s beautiful world.
Be blessed,
I love to think of nature as an unlimited broadcasting station, through which God speaks to us every hour, if we will only tune in.† ~George Washington Carver
I would love to have a small farm myself… but for now backyard farming will suit us… I have bought okra and kangkong seeds…. and loam soil.. NOW. I only have to wait for the weather to calm a little… it’s rainy season and everythings wet, clothes are even hard to dry… why am I complaining when it’s only wet and dry season to content with. Thanks for the links… I keep a notepad nearby to list things I need to do with my daughter… Blessings and it’s really great to homeschool… unschool on our part.
Hi there..I am a new follower and found you over at Live the Adventure. Love your pictures, and your blog. Can’t wait to look around and read more!
Melissa
Just popped over from Live the Adventure and felt at home here. I will be coming back to see more of the goodness here.
Looks like a great week!
Our first house was in CT 2.8 miles up a mountain road and we had 3.5 acres, fortunately most of it was wooded, but it took us an entire day each week just to cut the grass and do all the weed wacking, etc. And we had mountain lions and coyotes and coy dogs which always made me nervous for our two dogs. I loved living there, but realized that I prefer living in a town more than out in the country!
I don’t want a farm but I wish sometimes for a much bigger yard. I think I would have an Alpaca or two, definitely chickens for their fresh eggs and a huge veggie garden (that my husband and Lilah would care for!). I would have guinea hens to peck the tics away and a bat house to eat the mosquitos. Unfortunately unless we move, that will never be my reality. Where we live is not a city….but it is a large town and we live just off Main Street!
